VAN NUYS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IEE, manufacturer of enhanced displays for military and industrial applications, has tapped John Borrego as Director of Operations. Mr. Borrego comes to IEE with eleven years of experience in engineering and operations, ranging from executive leadership in electronics manufacturing to welding for in-space applications.
Mr. Borrego was most recently the Vice President of Production for WET Design, a premier design firm that builds the world’s most extravagant water features, such as the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, NV. At WET Design, he reduced manufacturing costs by in-sourcing new capabilities and processes and led the production team in meeting considerable schedules by utilizing lean tools that led to efficient operations for the luxury brand.
Prior to that, Mr. Borrego was Operations Manager at Orbital-ATK (now a part of Northrop Grumman Space Components), a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies that designs, builds, and delivers space, defense, and aviation systems. Along with managing the metallurgical lab, weld lab, and final product validation and test, he drove ROI projects resulting in extensive cost savings and increased quality performance.
“John brings extensive operations and production experience to IEE,” said Tom Whinfrey, President and CEO of IEE. “Along with his leadership style and process improvement skills, we expect great things from John, and welcome him to the IEE team.”
John began his career at both Aerojet Rocketdyne and SpaceX, where he served as manufacturing engineer at both companies.
He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, an MS in Industrial Engineering from New Mexico State University, and MBA from West Texas A&M University.
