BOSTON--()--An entrepreneurial duo, Christina Divigard and Bob Demetrius, co-founders of Valvespring, a communications, marketing and public relations consulting firm, have been bestowed NFTE’s Volunteerism Award.

Recognized for their work as volunteers, advisors, and champions of the NFTE program, the business partners have been dedicated to sharing their passion, creativity and business savvy with students in Boston, Framingham and Hartford. Divigard and Demetrius – who are based in Valvespring’s Northampton, Mass. office – often commute two hours one-way to volunteer.

NFTE is an international nonprofit that activates the entrepreneurial mindset in young people from under-resourced communities and builds their business skills through school-based programs.

“Volunteers like Christina and Bob are critical to bridging the gap between school curriculum and the world of entrepreneurship,” said Jennifer Green, New England regional director for NFTE. “They know first-hand what it’s like to start and run a successful business and are generous in sharing their personal experiences to help hundreds of our young entrepreneurs validate their ideas, think big, and reach higher.”
