APICS 2018 Highlights Diversity, Ethical Supply Chain

The leading conference will also feature prominent keynote speakers, 65+ dynamic educational sessions

CHICAGO--()--APICS, the premier professional association for supply chain management, will host its flagship event, APICS 2018, from September 30–October 2 in Chicago, Illinois. The influential conference will bring together more than 2,000 professionals from over 50 countries, covering all areas of the value chain. Attendees can expect to make invaluable contacts with many of the world’s most respected organizations and elevate their knowledge in more than 65 dynamic educational sessions. With early bird pricing, attendees can enjoy discounted tickets by registering before July 31.

APICS 2018 educational sessions align with the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model, with sessions divided into six buckets: Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return, Enable. Other highlights from the upcoming conference include:

  • Keynote Speakers
    • Marc Randolph, a veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur, advisor, investor and Netflix co-founder. “I intend to dispel the myth that, in order to be an innovator or a disruptor, you have to be from Silicon Valley or have a computer science degree,” said Randolph of what he will discuss with attendees at APICS 2018. “I’m going to explicitly tell them things that they can try at home the day after they leave the conference — things that will allow them to be more innovative in their own work.”
    • Connie Podesta, an award-winning author, former radio/TV personality and therapist. Her areas of expertise include sales, leadership, change, accountability and engagement. Podesta will discuss her take on change management during her keynote session. “Change is about staying in business and blowing away the competition,” she said. “Change is not something to gripe and be scared about, but something to applaud and feel grateful for.”
  • Women in Supply Chain Forum
    • APICS 2018 attendees can be an essential part of APICS’s efforts to attract, promote and retain women in supply chain by joining the second annual Women in Supply Chain Forum, held Sunday, September 30, in conjunction with the main conference. The forum is open to all, and participants in this special gathering can network with one another and discuss opportunities and challenges to advance women in the field.
  • APICS 2018 World Café – “Ethical and Sustainable Supply Chain”
    • APICS 2018 will host its World Café to facilitate a global discussion of an issue of importance. This year, participants will discuss the crucial questions all companies face as they develop their ethical and sustainable supply chain and operations management strategies. This is a unique opportunity for attendees from across the globe to discuss how incorporating ethical and sustainable supply chain practices can improve overall supply chain performance – and change the world.

In addition, conference attendees can qualify for up to 24 professional development points toward the certification maintenance of their CPIM, CSCP, CLTD and/or APICS Fellows level certifications. Attendees can also qualify for seven contact hours towards the APICS S&OP Education Certificate by attending the pre-conference Principles of S&OP seminar.

Visit the APICS 2018 website to learn more about the event and register to attend. Register before July 31 to take advantage of discounted pricing.
