Telrad Networks LTE Selected by Bloosurf for Pilot Program in Delaware

Celebrating successful trial initiated by Delaware officials

SEAFORD, Del.--()--Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative LTE telecom solutions, today announced that Bloosurf, a multi-state Internet Service Provider (ISP), has successfully piloted a state-initiated LTE network, in Delaware, with hopes of expanding throughout the state. The collaborative efforts aim to bring improved broadband accessibility and more connectivity options to Delaware citizens.

Bloosurf, a long-time Telrad customer, already operates a successful fixed LTE network in Maryland. The ISP was the awarded bidder in a State of Delaware issued RFP to run a pilot network utilizing their 70 MHz of 2.5 GHz EBS spectrum. The network, using the Telrad BreezeCOMPACT 3000 base station, has been testing the technology’s throughput, range and several features crucial for reliable and high-speed customer connectivity. The pilot has successfully proven it is feasible for the state to deliver improved broadband to its constituents.

Today, the Governor of Delaware, is expected to officially announce future plans for the state network at the pilot tower location between 2-3pm in Seaford, Delaware.

Vincent Sabathier, Founder and CEO of Bloosurf commented, “We have been working with Delaware officials to test one wireless tower and ensure that the performance of Telrad Networks’ LTE technology meets the requirements for this project. We have been very pleased with the network performance, and are sure that this equipment, optimized for fixed wireless, is suited for the expanded network. We’ve had a long relationship with Telrad and value them as a partner for their quality, carrier-class solution and excellent customer support.”

Chris Daniels, President of Telrad’s Broadband Wireless Division added, “The pilot program has set the standard for what we hope will become a statewide network. Bloosurf has an impeccable reputation for their Internet service business in Maryland and they are the ideal ISP to be carrying this project forward. We are honored to have been selected for Bloosurf’s deployments in Maryland and Delaware.”

Telrad fixed LTE solutions are currently being used in various networks across the United States and are especially useful in overcoming challenging environments with non-line-of-sight conditions.
