MediaPRO’s 2018 Awareness Program Excellence Awards Shines Spotlight on Top Privacy and Security Awareness Programs

With seven in 10 employees lacking cybersecurity and privacy awareness, MediaPRO’s award program recognizes companies that implement training programs to keep their data safe.

BOTHELL, Wash.--()--MediaPRO, a market leader in security and privacy awareness education and the company that changed the way organizations deliver awareness programs to reduce human risk, has opened the submission process for its second-annual Awareness Program Excellence Awards.

With the number of data breaches continuing to rise and 70 percent of employees lacking the awareness to stop preventable cyber incidents, it is vital that companies implement comprehensive cybersecurity and privacy awareness programs.

Companies that have successfully prioritized employee security and privacy awareness and implemented next-level initiatives are encouraged to apply. Submissions close on August 22, 2018, at 5 p.m. PT, and winners will be announced on September 19.

“The MediaPRO Awareness Program Excellence Awards are presented to companies that have implemented top-notch, comprehensive awareness programs with the goal of changing risky behavior,” said Tom Pendergast, MediaPRO’s chief strategist of security, privacy and compliance. “While many professionals have realized that simply delivering annual training is not enough to mitigate risks, there are still many who have not. By highlighting the best in the business, we aim to encourage those who are already deploying comprehensive awareness programs while inspiring those who have yet to implement one.”

Companies who believe they have award-worthy awareness programs are invited to submit their program in the following categories:

  • Small Organizations (fewer than 250 employees)
  • Mid-Sized Organizations (251-5,000 employees)
  • Enterprise (more than 5,000 employees)
  • Non-profit or Government (any number of employees)

Leveraging MediaPRO’s 25 years of industry experience and expertise, which Gartner has validated by naming the company a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Training Vendors for four consecutive years, a panel of industry-expert judges will assess each submission. Judging criteria are centered around industry needs and standards, future risk mitigation, adaptiveness and responsiveness of the program, reinforcement of training principles and overall effectiveness of the program.
