Before joining Siris, she was President, CEO, and a member of the board of directors of Ixia. In 2017, Mayer sold Ixia to Keysight Technologies for $1.7B. Prior to Ixia, Mayer was SVP/GM of HP Networking business unit, a $2.5B business. In addition Mayer held executive roles at Blue Coat Systems, Cisco Systems and Apple. Mayer holds an M.B.A. from California State University at Monterey Bay where she received the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award in 2018, and a B.S. from Santa Clara University. In 2017, Mayer was awarded the Global Leader of the Year Award by Women in IT and was named Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology in both 2015 and 2016 by The National Diversity Council.
