JNBA Financial Advisors Named to Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers List

National listing recognizes JNBA’s leadership as an independent firm for fourth year

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Independence has been one of JNBA Financial Advisors’ defining characteristics since its founding nearly 40 years ago, and now, the firm is being recognized once again for its leadership as one of the top independent registered investment advisors (RIA) in the nation. Today, JNBA was named to the 2018 Financial Times 300 Top Registered Advisers list. This is the fourth year that JNBA has been recognized on the list; it was also included in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 editions.

“As an independent RIA and fiduciary, JNBA takes an advocacy approach to all that we do in order to always act in our clients’ best interests,” says Kim Brown, president of JNBA Financial Advisors. “To be recognized by the Financial Times as one of the top independent RIAs in the country is an honor, and a testament to our ‘advice driven by advocacy’ approach.”

The annual FT 300 list is produced independently by the Financial Times in collaboration with Ignites Research, a subsidiary of the FT that provides business intelligence on the asset management industry. The listing is based on data gathered from RIA firms, regulatory disclosures and the FT’s research, and it reflects each practice’s performance in six areas: assets under management (AUM); AUM growth rate; years in existence; advanced industry credentials of the firm’s advisers; online accessibility; and compliance records.

Building on a rich history of operating as an independent RIA, JNBA in recent years has enhanced service levels and streamlined processes, growing the business to more than 850 clients and over $950 million in assets under management, while maintaining a client retention rate of over 97 percent since tracking began in 2001. JNBA’s dedication to being an advocate for its clients, employees and community has fueled the firm’s continued growth, including its expansion of family office services and an office in Duluth, Minn.

JNBA’s fiercely independent status allows the firm to customize investment strategies to individual client goals, which are implemented by an experienced team and disciplined process, including a review of each portfolio every 10 business days.

JNBA has been recognized locally and nationally for its dedication to clients. Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota named JNBA a winner of its 2015 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics, and the firm was named a finalist in the 2016 BBB International Torch Awards for Ethics. In addition, JNBA was also named a Barron’s Top 100 Independent Advisor in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, and Minnesota’s top financial advisor in 2018.*
