ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Enercon Services, Inc. (ENERCON) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SNC-Lavalin to support the completion of Bellefonte Unit 1 Nuclear Generating Station in Hollywood, AL, once the acquisition of the facility is complete. Nuclear Development, LLC successfully bid to acquire the unfinished facility from Tennessee Valley Authority late in 2016 with plans to complete construction and operate the facility in Alabama.
SNC-Lavalin, which recently signed a letter of agreement with Nuclear Development, LLC to provide Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services to complete construction, chose ENERCON as a partner on this multi-year project because of its long history of providing engineering and consulting services to the nuclear power generating industry.
“We are excited to partner with SNC-Lavalin to bring the Bellefonte 1 facility to completion,” said Robert Bryan, Chief Operating Officer of ENERCON. “As one of the major nuclear power service providers, we look forward to working with SNC-Lavalin and the new owner of the facility as an integral part of the team that will bring this reliable and clean energy source on the grid.”
ENERCON has been supporting nuclear power generation for 35 years and has built a solid reputation in the industry, proven by holding Engineer of Choice (EOC) contracts with 80% of the nuclear fleet. “We have become a trusted partner in the nuclear industry and are ready to continue to serve,” added Bryan.
