Cintas Location in Baltimore Earns OSHA’s Highest Safety Designation

BALTIMORE--()--Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced that its fire protection services location in Baltimore will receive Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification from Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH).

A ceremony honoring this achievement will take place on Monday, June 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the BWI Airport Marriott Hotel, located at 1743 West Nursery Rd. in Linthicum, Md. Special guests will include Steven Lakin, Deputy Commissioner of the Dept. of Labor & Industry; William Dallas, Asst. Commissioner of the Dept. of Labor & Industry; and other government officials and Cintas employee-partners.

VPP Star is OSHA’s highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health. VPP Star certification is earned by businesses that meet very rigorous safety requirements and can prove that the elimination of injuries is a key component of a company’s culture.

“Safety is critical to the success of our facilities and has always been our number one priority,” said Jason Majano, General Manager for Cintas Fire Protection in Maryland. “This VPP Star certification is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employee-partners. We look forward to mentoring other sites seeking to achieve VPP status.”

The Cintas location officially began the VPP process two years ago. It is Cintas’s third fire protection operation to earn VPP Star status, and the first in the northeast.

Since 2011, over 80 Cintas facilities have been recognized under the VPP program. Cintas is one of the largest participants in the nation for companies with VPP sites. It has approximately 250 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body. This includes operations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Honduras.
