HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ViON, a cloud service provider and market leader in the design, delivery and maintenance of mission-critical IT infrastructure solutions, announced today it has been awarded a multi-vendor, fixed-price hardware-focused information technology (IT) contract with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (CoPA). The contract’s estimated value is $22M annually and could potentially provide CoPA with next-generation server and storage hardware technology through ViON’s proven consumption-based financial model.
“ViON will provide the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania a reliable, responsive and cost-effective method for acquiring IT infrastructure that meets today’s needs and provides flexibility for future growth,” said Tom Frana, CEO and Chairman of ViON. “We differentiate ourselves from other system integrators and cloud service providers by providing high-performance infrastructure solutions, managed services and support backed by the industry’s most mature consumption-based model as well as ViON MarketPlace, which enables end-to-end management of next-generation technology from acquisition to management and support in a single platform.”
Under the terms of the server and storage hardware and services portion of the contract, ViON could potentially provide CoPA with server infrastructure built to support cloud initiatives and accommodate future technologies, including processor and network enhancements. ViON could also provide single or multiple tiers of storage as well as global storage virtualization capabilities to access CoPA-specific storage array types, offering the most flexible environment for creating the next generation data center.
Additionally, CoPA could potentially access ViON’s MarketPlace, which enables organizations to manage server and storage hardware from a single platform. This system encompasses the entire customer experience from research to service delivery, acceptance, billing and governance. Utilizing this platform, CoPA would be able to define multi-step operational workflows for requirements generation and approval. It provides an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) governance framework for service delivery and support, dashboards for key performance indicators and extensive service level reporting.
