Vituity Expands Partnership With Hospital Sisters Health System to Increase Integrated Care Services in the Midwest

Access to Vituity Resources, Innovations and Best Practices Enables Five HSHS Hospitals to Deliver High Quality Patient Care

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--()--Vituity, a leading physician-owned healthcare delivery organization, and Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) today announced a new, expanded partnership that will enable the HSHS Southern Illinois Division to take advantage of Vituity’s integrated care solutions across urgent care, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and critical care settings.

Since this partnership was established in February 2018, Vituity’s team of premier physicians and clinical experts have worked with HSHS to advance acute care delivery in all five of the system’s hospitals. Specifically, Vituity supports one intensive care unit, one telehealth intensive care unit, three urgent care centers and all five emergency medicine and hospital medicine programs.

“After extensive review of the type of operational, clinical and financial services that Vituity provides, we are pleased to have selected one partner that can provide high-quality solutions and address acute care needs for all five of our hospitals in the Southern Illinois Division,” said James Dover, President and CEO of the HSHS Southern Illinois Division. “In a short amount of time, Vituity’s focus on an integrated approach to patient care has positively impacted our hospital performance overall and we look forward to continuing to expand our collaboration to improve patient experiences and outcomes.”

As a patient-centric, independent and physician-owned organization, Vituity and its clinical experts leverage proven best practices and work closely with hospital leadership to identify and execute strategies that impact patient satisfaction and hospital efficiency.

“We transform healthcare delivery and hospital operations by integrating the acute care continuum through effective, team-based approaches that bring the joy back to medicine,” said Matthew Stilson, MD, Vice President of Vituity. “We look forward to helping HSHS improve the health of patients and the surrounding community, while also growing our presence in the Midwest region to provide best-in-class patient care.”

The physicians with Vituity are well-established in the southern Illinois community and will increase their presence at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon; HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham; HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, Breese; HSHS Holy Family Hospital, Greenville; and HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, Highland.

“What’s really important is how seamless the care is between the units and hospitals, which significantly improves the patient experience,” said Joshua Niebruegge, MD, Vice President and Regional Director at Vituity in O’Fallon, Ill. “When necessary, our patients are smoothly transferred between specialists and hospital sites to doctors they often already know and trust.”
