Gap Inc. Employees Celebrate Long-Standing History of Equality at Store and Community Events, Offering Customers Select Pride-Themed Product Across Global Family of Brands

Proceeds From Select Product To Support Global LGBTQ Awareness Raising Efforts

SAN FRANCISCO--()--As a company with a nearly 50-year history of promoting equality for all, Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) kicked off Pride Month with opportunities for employees and customers to celebrate through Pride parades, colorful window displays and special product from the brands.

Gap Inc. brands will once again provide customers the opportunity to celebrate Pride through special product and experiences. Here is how each brand is bringing Pride to life:

Banana Republic

Banana Republic kicked off Pride month with a company-wide tribute at the famed Cupid’s Span landmark in San Francisco, commissioned by Gap founders Donald and Doris F. Fisher. For the tribute, employees joined hands to form a rainbow-colored heart around the sculpture, creating a powerful image of equality to be shared around the world. “The huge heart our employees made shows how we feel about equality,” says Mark Breitbard, Banana Republic President & CEO. “Inclusion has been an important part of our company’s DNA since the beginning and we proudly support the LGBTQ community today and every day.” Banana Republic also introduced a LOVE IS LOVE collection of t-shirts with $5 from each t-shirt sale going to the United Nations Foundation in support of the UN Free & Equal campaign, up to $60,000. The t-shirts are available online and in select Banana Republic and Banana Republic Factory stores in the U.S. and Canada.

Gap

Gap is also offering Pride tees with a percent of proceeds supporting the United Nations Free & Equal campaign. In select stores and online in the U.S. and Canada, Gap brand will donate $5 from each sale of a special “WE ARE ONE” t-shirt to the UN Foundation in support of the UN Free & Equal campaign. Within select global markets, t-shirts will be available online and in select stores with twenty percent of net t-shirt sales to be donated to the UN Foundation in support of the UN Free & Equal campaign.

Old Navy

Old Navy is offering a collection of Pride items for Men, Women, Boys and Girls, including tees and accessories, such as flip flops, water bottles, hats and bags, so the whole family can wear their pride. The tees, which feature phrases like “Love Wins,” will be available at 500 Old Navy stores across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and online at Oldnvy.me/pride. And, as communities across the country host Pride Parades throughout the month of June, Old Navy stores in seven cities located along major parade routes, will debut special window displays to celebrate with our customers and employees.

Cross-brand

Special Pride-themed eGift Cards are available online. Across Athleta, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory Store, Gap, Gap Factory, and Old Navy, $2 will be donated for every eGift Card sold between May 29 – July 7 in support of the UN Free & Equal campaign, up to $15,000. Read more about the company’s donation.

Activities mark ongoing participation in annual celebrations, including recent Rainbow Pride in Tokyo last month and upcoming events in Asia later this year.
