AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ESO, the leading data and software company serving emergency medical services (EMS), fire departments and hospitals, today announced upgrades and enhancements to its industry-leading, web-based electronic patient care reporting software, ESO Electronic Health Record (EHR). Key updates include the ability to capture and track additional overdose data, recommended trauma center destinations, enhanced Google Mileage Calculation and improved association between ZOLL 3-lead snapshots and vital signs entries.
“The latest version of our Electronic Health Record platform continues to provide powerful tools and data to EMS agencies and providers to improve the health and safety of our communities,” said Allen Johnson, Vice President of ESO Healthcare. “In addition to a number of state reporting and NEMSIS related items, this latest update takes our recently announced Surveillance Overdose Form to another level by tracking the ability to document distribution of Narcan to kits to measure the success of such programs and possibly save lives.”
ESO Electronic Health Record expanded capabilities include:
- Overdose crisis response: Many providers now carry Naloxone or Narcan Kits to leave with a patient or family member. New data elements have been incorporated into the current Surveillance Overdose Form to track the effects of this protocol.
- Trauma referral tracking: Trauma activations are costly events. Recording the use of a trauma referral center and their recommendation for patient destination will help improve patient care based on the type and severity of an emergency scenario.
- Loaded mileage precision: Medicare reimbursements using Google Maps integration for automating distance calculations now includes latitude and longitude.
Used by thousands of EMS agencies across the country, ESO Electronic Health Record provides a powerful, web-based platform that is changing the face of emergency medicine by helping organizations turn data into actionable information to more effectively and efficiently protect communities and improve patient outcomes.
