WebPT Announces All-Star Speaker Lineup for 5th Annual Ascend Summit

APTA President to Deliver Keynote at Business-Focused Rehab Therapy Conference

PHOENIX--()--American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) President Sharon Dunn, PT, PhD, will deliver the keynote address at Ascend 2018, a two-day summit designed specifically for physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists looking to improve their businesses. The conference — which is hosted by WebPT, the leading rehab therapy software platform — will take place this Sept. 28-29 at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix.

Other notable speakers at this year’s event include:

  • Paul Martin, MPT, CBI, M&AMI, president of Martin Healthcare Advisors
  • Daphne Scott, DPT, CPCC, founder of DS Leadership Life
  • Rick Gawenda, PT, founder and president of Gawenda Seminars & Consulting, Inc.
  • Ryan Klepps, DPT, and Scott Hebert, DPT, co-founders of Strive Labs

In addition to an impressive speaker lineup, Ascend 2018 will feature three different educational tracks focused on executive strategy, billing and compliance, and operations. Attendees will gain actionable ideas to implement in their practices, including information on the latest regulatory changes, practical business and marketing tactics, and healthcare-specific leadership strategies.

“Ascend has become the one place for business executives, business managers, and private practice owners to step out of the day-to-day and spend time working on their businesses rather than in their businesses,” said Heidi Jannenga, PT, DPT, ATC, co-founder and president of WebPT. “Practice owners and leaders from across the rehab therapy industry come together at Ascend to share best practices, gain insights from other practitioners who are at the top of their game, and learn from the best and brightest innovators in the industry. And this year, we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate our 10-year anniversary in our hometown of Phoenix.”

Ascend 2018 coincides with WebPT’s 10-year anniversary and will include special celebratory events to mark this milestone, including the grand re-opening of the recently renovated WebPT offices, as well as the unveiling of a large-scale mural created by a local artist on the exterior of WebPT’s headquarters, which is located in the historic downtown Phoenix Warehouse District.

Additionally, each year at Ascend, one private practice is honored with the Ascend Practice of the Year Award, a program that recognizes outstanding business performance in rehab therapy. Previous Ascend Practice of the Year Award recipients include OSI Physical Therapy and Pivot Physical Therapy. The Ascend award committee is now accepting 2018 award applications.

Ascend attendees also will have the opportunity to earn continuing education units (CEUs). Pre-registration for Ascend is now open, with early-bird pricing starting at $599 per ticket.
