Mark Francis and Tom Lando’s work leading the Task Force on City Revenues & Expenditures was recognized at the Capitol Summit in Sacramento. From the Chamber Special Report (January 2018), “the Task Force on City Revenues & Expenditures was created by unanimous vote of the Chico Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in early 2017 to advance the Community Vision. The intent of the Task Force was to explore current and projected revenues of the City of Chico, current and projected expenditures, potential new sources of revenue and cost savings, and costs of needed improvements to increase the quality of life.” You can read the full Special Report at the Chico Chamber website.

Katie Simmons, President and CEO of the Chico Chamber had this to say about the recognition, “The Chico Chamber is incredibly fortunate to have a Board of Directors full of small business advocates. They make our Chamber and our community successful. Mark Francis and fellow recipient Tom Lando typify outstanding Board leadership through their work heading up the Task Force on City Revenues & Expenditures in 2017. Task Force conclusions represent the priorities of the business community and pave the way for civic leadership through challenging economic times. Their groundbreaking analysis will resonate for years to come and will move Chico forward in measurable ways. We are so proud of their work and this well-deserved recognition from CalChamber.”
