ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Telos® Corporation, a leading provider of continuous IT security solutions and services for the world’s most security-conscious organizations, today released a specially designed FedRAMP template for its popular Xacta 360 platform. The template streamlines and automates a significant portion of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) process – a framework for ensuring security for federal cloud computing by assessing cloud services and products against a baseline of controls.
“The future of federal technology is automation, which is why we developed a template to automate the FedRAMP process, providing our customers with a quicker, easier way to achieve full FedRAMP compliance,” said Telos CEO and Chairman John B. Wood. “Through this new Xacta 360 template, Telos is giving the federal IT community a new tool that it craves to reduce the time and cost needed to navigate the FedRAMP process.”
This first-of-its-kind solution automates necessary FedRAMP documentation, including registration of projects, assessments, authorizations and continuous monitoring. Telos’ template was developed in the wake of a federal RFI for how to mature and automate more elements of the FedRAMP process, and is structured in line with the federal government’s Agency Authorization Playbook of FedRAMP best practices and the recently issued FedRAMP CSP Authorization Playbook.
The Xacta 360 FedRAMP template can be used by any Cloud Service Provider (CSP) to accelerate FedRAMP certification activities. This template is also optimized for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment, allowing AWS users to automatically inherit extensive compliance data from AWS, which greatly reduces time and effort required to achieve initial FedRAMP certification. The Xacta FedRAMP template also offers AWS account scanning to automatically inventory and validate compliance of these AWS services in an on-going manner, which helps address the requirement for Continuous Monitoring. This template fast-tracks the entire FedRAMP process and saves time and money that applicants would normally devote to consulting or advisory services.
“We’re excited to help organizations make their way through this process more efficiently and with less strain on personnel and resources through our proven Xacta suite,” said Stephen Horvath, vice president of strategy and vision, Telos. “FedRAMP is a great program and is critical to the success of cloud projects within the federal government. Our goal is to ensure our customers can take full advantage of it without worrying about the time, effort and costs associated with the FedRAMP compliance process.”
