HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has again been named the Technology Advisory House of the Year by Energy Risk magazine for excellence across global commodity markets. The award was announced recently at the Energy Risk annual awards in Houston.
As in previous years, Accenture’s breadth of strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations services to global commodities trading companies contributed to the recognition. The award also reflects Accenture’s track record of helping clients deliver some of the most complex trading transformations in the energy industry while leading the adoption of next-generation digital technologies.
"Accenture is the key strategic partner in our global energy trading and risk management implementation,” said Annmarie Reynolds, Chief Commercial Officer, US, Eurasia & Utilities, for The AES Corporation. “Their industry experience, product knowledge and commitment to the project have been significant drivers in AES’ ability to successfully rollout a new trading solution that enabled us to transform and standardize our global business operations across our international footprint.”
Baris Ertan, a managing director at Accenture who leads the Trading and Commercial practice in the company’s Resources operating group, said, “We continue to see growth globally for our services, from strategy to operations, and now serve approximately 40 commodity trading clients – 16 of whom are new to our portfolio – while expanding our delivery teams into Ireland, Switzerland, Japan and Mexico. Our expansion into countries that are facing deregulation and new market design is especially exciting as clients need help solving competitive challenges at a time when new commercial entities are forming and interest from foreign investors is on the rise.”
In 2015, Accenture acquired Structure, adding approximately 200 professionals to its trading and risk delivery team and expanding its ability to deliver large, complex energy trading and risk-management projects to support its clients’ business operations and technology.
Structure received the Technology Advisory House of the Year award in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, and Accenture received it in 2016, 2017 and this year.
