Sentient Jet Continues Support of Veteran Nonprofit Homes for Our Troops Through Sponsorship of Preakness Stakes Contender Tenfold

On the Heels of Immensely Successful Awareness Campaign Tied to Sponsorship of Kentucky Derby Contender Combatant, Leading Private Aviation Company Reaffirms Commitment to Veteran Organization Through Support of Preakness Stakes Participant Tenfold

QUINCY, Mass.--()--Sentient Jet, a Directional Aviation company and avid supporter of the horse racing community, proudly announces its continued support of Homes For Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds homes for severely injured Veterans, through the sponsorship of three-year-old Thoroughbred Tenfold at the 143rd running of the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 19th. The announcement comes just two weeks after the private aviation company helped raised significant awareness for this important organization through the sponsorship of Kentucky Derby contender Combatant, whose ownership group, Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC, is a valued supporter of Homes For Our Troops, as well as the owner of Tenfold.

“We are so pleased that we were able to help generate such tremendous attention for Homes For Our Troops through our Combatant sponsorship at this year’s Kentucky Derby, and we are thrilled to extend our support of the wonderful organization as we cheer on Tenfold at the upcoming Preakness Stakes,” said Andrew Collins, president and CEO of Sentient Jet. “Thanks to the incredible support and generosity of the Stronach Group and the Preakness community, we are looking forward to welcoming several of our nation’s finest to enjoy a day at the races, while simultaneously building upon the incredible momentum of this campaign and the special cause that it promotes.”

“With Maryland’s deep ties to the military and Saturday’s Preakness being one of the state’s most exciting events, I can think of no better opportunity to honor Homes For Our Troops and the men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving our country,” said Sal Sinatra, president of the Maryland Jockey Club. “We are excited to introduce our guests to the exciting world of Thoroughbred racing and to ensuring they have a wonderful day rooting for Tenfold.”

In line with its presence at the Kentucky Derby, Sentient Jet’s support of Team Tenfold and Homes For Our Troops will stretch throughout Preakness Stakes weekend through several events. On Thursday, May 17th, Sentient Jet will welcome US Army Veteran Sergeant Brandon Huff and his wife to Pimlico Racetrack for a personal introduction to Team Tenfold and the rest of the Preakness field. On May 19th, Huff will be joined by retired four-star General and Homes For Our Troops Board Chairman Richard Cody to watch the races alongside a group of fellow US Army Veterans and their families, members of the Sentient Jet team and racing community.

“Veterans are the unsung heroes of our country, and we owe a great deal to them and to their families,” said General Cody. “We look forward to honoring our commitment and consider it our duty to make a lasting difference to those most in need alongside Sentient Jet and Team Tenfold, our valued partners that share our commitment to those who have borne the wounds of war for all of America.”

Sentient Jet’s support of Homes For Our Troops through the Combatant sponsorship has already garnered considerable media and consumer attention, with primetime coverage on household networks including NBC Sports Network, ESPN, and more. As a result of this awareness campaign, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, whose Military Heroes Campaign has given over $1.1 million for veteran organizations over the years, has pledged to donate nearly $40,000 to Homes For Our Troops, a contribution which would not have been made were it not for Sentient Jet’s sponsorship and subsequent awareness campaign.

Homes For Our Troops builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post – 9/11 Veterans. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries, and these homes enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar have gone directly to program services for Veterans. Homes For Our Troops builds homes where a Veteran chooses to live and continues its relationship with the individual after home delivery. Empowered by the freedom that a donated, specially adapted custom home brings, Veterans can focus on their recovery and returning to their life’s work of serving others.

Handled by Steve Asmussen, the same trainer responsible for Combatant, Tenfold is a three-year old Thoroughbred who has placed first in two of three races run in the 2018 season. His strong record solidified him as a strong contender for the 2018 Preakness Stakes. Tenfold is owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC, the co-owners of 2017 Horse of the Year Gun Runner and two-time winner of the Kentucky Oaks with Summerly and Untapable.

“We are delighted to have another opportunity to raise awareness for Homes For Our Troops,” said Steve Asmussen, trainer to Tenfold. “We could not be prouder of the great impact that Tenfold will have on Saturday running at the Preakness Stakes.”
