SAN FRANCISO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Professional BusinessWomen of California (PBWC)’s 29th annual conference will be held at Moscone Center West in San Francisco on April 24, 2018. This year’s theme, Stand Up, Lift Up, is a clarion call for the changes we need to advance diversity, inclusion and gender equality in professional settings. Keynote speakers include: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Ashley Judd, Maria Shriver, Bernard Tyson, Rosie Rios, Manal Al-Sharif and Adama Iwu, among others. PBWC’s 2017 Inclusion Now conference featured Hillary Clinton and Taraji P. Henson.
Taking strength from movements like #MeToo and #TimesUp, women are demanding that the harassment stop and the healing begin. Attendees at this year’s sold-out event will receive the tools and inspiration to voice their views, even in conversations where they feel undervalued or excluded.
“Every year, I look forward to our conference which is a day for women to come together and feel the strength in our numbers,” says Alex Roddy, executive board chair for PBWC. “Attendees will learn the latest insights into how to break the glass ceiling, and leave inspired and equipped to make a difference for ourselves, our colleagues and young women coming up behind us. This year, I am more excited than ever before – both because of our stellar line-up and because the strength of #MeToo and #TimesUp indicate that for women everywhere, this is our time.”
The Expo Marketplace – which runs concurrently with the conference – is the conference’s central activity hub featuring exhibits, food, entertainment, a bookstore, lounges and interactive areas. It serves as the main gathering place for conference attendees to network, meet the speakers, and gain resources and educational tools.
This is a sold-out event and is currently open to credentialed media only. A pre-event VIP reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 on Monday, April 23. The VIP event is not open to the public and location will be provided upon confirmation of media attendance. Interested media attendees for the private VIP reception and the conference may contact Kimberly Hathaway at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-994-1097.
