NOR’s MCInfo Helps Insurance Companies and States Save Paper This Earth Day

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--U.S. insurance companies can do their part this Earth Day by submitting insurance forms online in an effort to save paper. Filing online is the most efficient way to get the job done and can even save insurance companies and states time and money.

The National Online Registries (NOR) Motor Carrier Information Exchange (MCInfo) is a service that provides greater transparency to motor carrier insurers by facilitating the transmission of insurance filings online and tracking them through the approval process. Insurance companies and agents can file forms online at www.mcinfo.org with participating states electronically. Users receive instant email notifications when forms are processed by a state, and can then save copies in PDF format.

“The goal behind MCInfo is to create an efficient system to speed up the process to submit and review insurance forms, and expedite communications between filers and states,” said Laura Johnson, President of NOR. “The fact that the site reduces the amount of paper used for filings is yet another important benefit of filing digitally.”

Last year nearly 300 insurance companies used MCInfo to submit more than 84,000 insurance forms, saving approximately 10 trees by requiring no paper for any step of the filing process.
