DUBOIS, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Domtar Corporation (NYSE: UFS) (TSX: UFS) announced that employee volunteers from the company’s converting and distribution center in DuBois, PA visited CG Johnson Elementary School today to donate and read new books to the school’s children as part of its partnership with First Book. Domtar makes a wide variety of everyday products from sustainable wood fiber, including communication, specialty and packaging papers, market pulp and absorbent hygiene products. The Domtar DuBois Converting & Distribution Center employs 85 people in the local community.
Employees from Domtar’s DuBois Converting & Distribution Center read to the Second Grade students at CG Johnson Elementary School in nearby Reynoldsville, PA. Domtar donated 129 books to CG Johnson Elementary School in total. Each of the 69 students from Second Grade will be able to take home a copy of the book “Friendship According to Humphrey,” and the remaining books donated by Domtar will be added to the classroom libraries.
This is the second grant that Domtar has provided in the last six months to a local school to purchase new books. Just this past November, Domtar donated 70 books to the second grade students of Wasson Elementary School in DuBois, PA.

As part of its Powerful Pages campaign, Domtar has partnered with First Book, a nonprofit social enterprise that provides books to children in need, since 2012 to provide more than half a million dollars in grants to schools and programs in towns that are home to Domtar facilities. Domtar’s grants provide funding to educators to purchase books through the First Book Marketplace, a website available exclusively to First Book programs, and then the school’s children are able to bring home the new books.
