MARLINTON, W.Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Tax Office has simplified the process for lodging owners to complete their monthly return of hotel occupancy online at https://go.wv.gov/pocahontashoteltax.
Through this new online service, lodging owners can quickly submit and pay for their monthly filing without the need for a paper check or stamp. Users have the option to pay by electronic check or credit card. A $2.00 convenience fee applies to all filings and an additional 2.2% fee applies when paying by credit card. Filings can be completed online up to 11:59PM on the 15th of each month without a late fee being applied.
The Sheriff’s Tax Office reminds lodging owners that a $15 per month late fee in addition to monthly delinquency fee applies to all lodging owners that failed to complete their filing by 11:59PM on the 15th of the month. All lodging owners are required to file regardless if unit is rented in the given filing period.
