The VoLTE traffic is being carried by the TNS Data Services Hub, a technical and business framework for simplifying LTE, as well as other next-generation data connectivity, interoperability and roaming needs among participating operators.
By using the TNS Data Services Hub, the operator is providing VoLTE roaming services to its subscribers for the first time, offering improved call clarity, quicker call set up times and more reliable hand-offs.
Paul Florack, Vice President of Product Management for TNS’ Wholesale Telecoms business, said: “We are delighted that our new VoLTE Roaming solution is being used to help a major US operator expand its VoLTE coverage. Interest has been keen and we have a number of operators who are working with us to deploy VoLTE services for their subscribers in the coming weeks.”
The feature-rich TNS Data Services Hub has been recently enhanced with an extensive range of new functionality. Enhancements include roaming risk mitigation capabilities which enable operators to more efficiently and effectively control roaming costs, new data optimization which helps operators to streamline the amount of data roaming subscribers consume, and the Emergency Hub Break Out service which allows operators to meet critical essential services requirements and regulatory compliance obligations.
Mr Florack said: “The TNS Data Services Hub is one of our most innovative service offerings and is continually being developed to meet the evolving needs of operators and their subscribers. TNS’ VoLTE Roaming offers impressive flexibility by supporting a variety of inbound and outbound 4G roaming models to ensure a consistent and seamless user experience. It helps grow ARPU and prevents the churn of high-value subscribers by expanding HD voice services beyond an operator’s own borders.
“Enabling VoLTE alongside next generation data services is crucial to helping operators drive network efficiencies, reduce costs and create new revenue streams, while improving their overall subscriber and roamer experiences. We can help operators to quickly deploy VoLTE roaming capabilities regardless of the IMS core set up within their home network and we are ready to begin today.”
