Arkansas Virtual Academy Now Enrolling for the 2018-2019 School Year

Online Public School Provides High-Quality Education Option for Students in Grades K-12

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--()--Arkansas Virtual Academy (ARVA) is now accepting enrollment applications for the 2018-2019 school year. An online public charter school, ARVA is available tuition-free to students in kindergarten through 12th grade who reside anywhere in the state.

ARVA students access a robust online curriculum, and attend live virtual classes taught by Arkansas-licensed teachers. Students are offered a full course load in the core subjects of math, science, English language arts, history, art and music, as well as a host of electives including world languages. Teachers communicate regularly with students and families via email, phone and in one-to-one online meetings.

Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, ARVA students will have the opportunity to take Career Technical Education (CTE) courses through the school’s Destinations program. CTE introduces students to specialty trade skills through online courses in finance, marketing, information technology and health sciences, allowing them to explore their interests and get a head start on future career opportunities.

Every family is different and every parent does what they think is right for their child,” says Siobhan Carpenter of Austin, whose two children attend ARVA. “For me, getting to watch them learn and their personalities develop in this safe and supportive environment has just been amazing.”

Students choose online school for a variety of reasons, including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment, and the ability to support extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. Outside of the virtual classroom, ARVA offers online student clubs and in-person activities such as field trips, community service opportunities and social gatherings, including an annual graduation ceremony for seniors.

Enrollment is now open for the 2018-2019 school year. Students and families are encouraged to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the school. More information on ARVA, how to enroll, and a schedule of upcoming events can be found at arva.k12.com.
