WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A. Joseph Jay III has joined the Washington, D.C. office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP as a partner in the Government Contracts, Investigations & International Trade practice group. Jay joins from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.
Jay represents clients in a wide range compliance and regulatory matters before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, federal Inspectors General, and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices. His representations include allegations of violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, securities and accounting fraud, antitrust, export controls, conflicts-of-interest, bribery, and unlawful gratuities. Jay regularly represents Boards of Directors, Audit Committees, and other companies in complex independent and internal investigations around the world involving U.S. law enforcement, U.S. civil regulators, and foreign criminal and civil authorities. Additionally, Jay advises financial institutions and corporations on international trade matters involving export controls, economic sanctions, CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment), and other issues related to cross-border business.
