Resorts World Catskills Introduces Team of Seasoned Industry Executives Leading Its Multifaceted Marketing Strategy

East Coast Casino Marketing veterans led by CMO Robert E. Victoria reinforces luxury casino resort’s position as premier destination

MONTICELLO, N.Y.--()--Resorts World Catskills today introduced several key marketing executives that play integral roles on its leadership team. Tasked with driving forward the recently opened integrated destination resort’s multifaceted marketing communications efforts, the team brings extensive industry expertise to solidify Resorts World Catskills’ market position as a premier Northeast luxury casino resort.

Robert E. Victoria, Chief Marketing Officer (“CMO”), recruited accomplished east coast casino industry professionals to join him in at Resorts World Catskills. Collectively the new marketing team has more than a century’s worth of combined marketing, sales and guest services experience at leading casinos such as Foxwoods Resort Casino (“Foxwoods”), Mohegan Sun Casino, CT, Seneca Niagara Casino, Sands Hotel Casino, and Harrah’s Atlantic City. The senior team includes Joseph DeCarlo, Vice President of Casino Marketing, Tara Gregson, Vice President of Consumer Marketing, Ron Caverly, Executive Director of Guest Services and Dino Trombino, Director of Player Development for new markets.

As CMO, Victoria is responsible for all of Resorts World Catskills’ marketing and sales initiatives, including casino services, promotions, customer development, entertainment procurement, resort & hotel sales, advertising, database marketing, e-commerce, public relations and brand management for the region’s largest integrated commercial casino resort.

Victoria began his gaming and casino career in 1992, working as a host at Foxwoods, where he worked with Trombino and DeCarlo. Victoria was a member of Mohegan Sun Casino’s opening team in 1996, eventually advancing to Vice President of Casino Marketing. Victoria returned to Foxwoods in 2009-2011 to serve as the resort’s CMO, where he oversaw thirty-eight marketing and operating departments, including hotel reservations, entertainment, and advertising, and worked closely with Gregson, DeCarlo and Caverly. Victoria also brings experience from myriad management roles at companies such as Harrah’s, Caesars, Seneca Gaming, Seminole Gaming Corporation and the Grand Traverse Band of Indians.

DeCarlo brings more than a quarter-century of industry experience to his role as Resorts World Catskills’ Vice President of Casino Marketing. He is responsible for directing the casino resort’s strategy and programming to reach and expand its guest base. DeCarlo started his career at the Sands Hotel Casino in Atlantic City before working at Trump’s Castle Hotel Casino. He joined the Foxwoods team in 1992. DeCarlo most recently served as Vice President of Casino Marketing at Resorts World Bimini.

As Vice President of Consumer Marketing, Gregson brings more than 20 years of experience to drive consideration and trial of Resorts World Catskills, a premier luxury casino destination. Gregson most recently served as Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing, Strategic Partnerships and Creative Services for Webster Bank. She worked closely with Victoria as Vice President of Brand Strategy at Foxwoods, where she was responsible for the strategic development and implementation for all advertising, general marketing, corporate and consumer communications, external marketing agencies, and strategic partnerships. Gregson also served as Executive Director of Advertising for Seneca Gaming Corporation from 2003 to 2008.

With more than 26 years of industry experience, Trombino is responsible for coordinating the daily effort to reach new potential casino players in his role as Director of Player Development for new markets. Trombino began his career with a 13-year stint as Senior Executive Casino Host at Foxwoods in 1992, followed by 10 years at Mohegan Sun Casino. Trombino and Victoria worked together at both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casino. Most recently, Trombino worked at Resorts World Bimini from 2014 to 2016.

As Executive Director of Guest Services, Caverly oversees day-to-day guest operations, ensuring that staff meet guest demands in all areas of the resort. Caverly has more than 25 years of executive experience in opening, operating and re-structuring casinos and hotels. Caverly began his career at Foxwoods before advancing to a position with the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Hotel and Casino’s Tampa team. Caverly also brings experience working with the Seneca Gaming Corporation and Mohegan Sun Casino to his new role and has worked with Victoria for over 20 years.
