SmartBiz Loans® Named a Best Place to Work in Financial Technology 2018

- Award reflects company-wide commitment to collaboration at every level

- Selective list from American Banker features only 20 companies across entire fintech landscape

SAN FRANCISCO--()--SmartBiz Loans, the #1 online marketplace for SBA loans and a bank-enabling technology platform, is pleased to announce it was recently named to American Banker’s 2018 list of the Best Places to Work in Financial Technology. The award quickly follows recent recognition of SmartBiz® as the top facilitator of SBA 7(a) loans under $350,000, surpassing JP Morgan Chase and a number of national banks.

“We couldn’t be prouder of this honor because it is a recognition voted on by our employees and it reflects our commitment to employing the best and brightest in fintech,” said Evan Singer, CEO of SmartBiz Loans. “There are so many incredible fintech companies; however, the top talent gravitates toward those, like SmartBiz, which make the world a better place through teamwork and innovation.”

The awards, in their second year, are a collaboration between American Banker and Best Companies Group, which partners with various groups to administer and analyze employee surveys. This survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the financial technology industry, benefiting the industry's economy, workforce and businesses. The list is made up of 20 companies.

“We think that our mission is a noble one,” continued Singer. “Our employees are helping small businesses grow every day, which in turn grows the overall economy, as small businesses are its backbone.”

In order to achieve this mission, the SmartBiz team aligns around a set of core values: enable our customers to win; execute with excellence and urgency; create impactful innovation, and help each other perform at the highest levels. SmartBiz employees also receive a myriad of benefits including catered office lunches, and 100% paid coverage for comprehensive medical, dental and vision for employees and their families.

To be considered for participation in the awards, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

- Be an organization that provides technology products, services or solutions that enable the delivery of financial services

- Have at least 15 employees working in the US

- Be in business a minimum of 1 year

Companies from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine American Banker’s Best Places to Work in Financial Technology. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final ranking.
