Barnes & Noble Announces Temporary Location to Open at Maui Marketplace on March 12

Temporary Store in Kahului Ensures Customers Can Continue to Shop the Best in Books as Barnes & Noble Searches for Permanent Home on the Island

NEW YORK--()--Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest retail bookseller, is thrilled to announce that it will continue to serve the Maui community at a new temporary location in Kahului that will open on Monday, March 12. The store at Maui Marketplace will ensure that local customers can continue to shop the best in books as Barnes & Noble aggressively searches for a permanent home on the island. The new location will open only one day after the previous store at Lahaina closes on March 11, due to an expiring lease, and will feature a similar assortment of books and products.

“Our dedicated team of booksellers in Maui is really excited to open the doors of this new location in Maui Marketplace to the community,” said Jim Lampassi, Vice President, Real Estate Development. “We invite everyone in Maui to stop by and browse our specially curated selection of books and products. The outpouring of support from the community as we tirelessly worked to find a new store in the area was heartwarming, and we can’t wait to continue to serve our loyal customers on the island.”

“We would like to thank our broker, Roger Lyons of CBRE in Honolulu, for helping us to identify an appropriate short-term lease until we find a more permanent location, and Petco, the previous occupant of the space who we are subleasing it from,” adds Lampassi. “We would also like to thank The Festival Companies, our landlord in Lahaina, for granting us more time to find a relocation space.”

Customers are encouraged to visit the new store on March 12 at Maui Marketplace, 270 Dairy Rd, Kahului, HI, 96732.
