MIDWEST CITY, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA), a full-time online public charter school authorized by the Statewide Virtual Charter School Board, is now accepting enrollment applications for the 2018-19 school year. OVCA is available to Oklahoma students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
OVCA offers online instruction, hands-on curriculum and the support of state-licensed teachers to cultivate a personalized education experience for each student. College- or career-minded students can choose from a broad range of profession-focused courses in order to gain a competitive edge for the future, discover their path after high school or explore a possible college major. High school students can also earn college credits with concurrent enrollment through in-person or online courses at colleges and universities throughout the state.
At OVCA, teachers monitor progress while providing professional insight and instruction. Teachers interact with students and parents via email, phone, web-based classrooms and online discussions. As a public school option, there is no tuition.
OVCA provides families and students an alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar education. The school uses the curriculum provided by K12 Inc., the nation’s leading provider of proprietary curriculum and online education programs. Students choose online school for a variety of reasons, including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment and schedule flexibility to facilitate extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. OVCA’s online platform gives students the flexibility to pursue their academic goals in a supportive environment at an appropriate pace for their learning style.
“OVCA is a gem that blends traditional school with a curriculum that’s flexible to us anywhere at any time,” said Christie Britton, whose son, Carter, is in eighth grade at Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy. “I’ve seen my son blossom before my eyes since enrolling at OVCA. It has made such a difference for him.”
During the enrollment period, OVCA will be conducting online and in-person information sessions throughout the state.
