Rare Disease Report® to Cover Rare Disease Day

Over 25 million Americans are affected by rare diseases

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--In recognition of Rare Disease Day on Feb. 28, Rare Disease Report®, the digital component of Rare Disease Communications®, will provide continuous coverage and the latest content starting on Feb. 26.

“As a leading resource for rare diseases, we look forward to sharing stories from our advocates and spreading awareness of these uncommon disorders,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of Michael J. Hennessy Associates Inc., parent company of Rare Disease Report®. “We look forward to informing the community by sharing educational content throughout the day.”

To raise awareness and advance clinical and scientific research for the rare disease community, Rare Disease Report® will provide research articles, powerful patient and medical interviews and infographics. In addition, all materials will be visible on Rare Disease Report®’s social media platforms, Facebook and Twitter.

Rare Disease Day serves as a platform for the rare disease community to increase awareness of uncommon disorders through education and to propel research for treatment options. Although there are an estimated 7,000 rare diseases, which impact approximately 25 million individuals, “rare disease” is any disease that generates fewer than 200,000 cases in a particular rare disease group. Delayed diagnoses are also common, as symptoms heavily vary in comparison to a common disease.
