NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CA Automic, a leader in business automation software owned by CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA), today announced that the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) is using CA Automic Workload Automation (CA AWA) to streamline its most mission-critical processes, including admissions, records, orientation, financial aid and scholarship. UTC is able to cut down on manual processes – saving the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships 80 hours a week, and reducing its response time from the Department of Education from a week to a single day.
“Automation enables us to let students know their financial aid decisions faster so that they can keep the focus on their education,” says Jennifer Buckles, Director of Financial Aid at UTC. “Today a student application can be released in 10 minutes online, rather than requiring the student to visit the office in-person.”
UTC selected CA AWA for its flexibility and reputation in the higher education community as a best-in-class automation platform to accelerate, control and provide visibility over business processes. The solution integrates with Ellucian’s Banner, a software-as-a-service ERP offering used by 1,400 higher education institutions, making it easy for users to automate and schedule ongoing Banner processes without specialized expertise. The Financial Aid team automates critical tasks to run anytime 24/7, ensuring student information systems are as up to date as possible, helping the department deliver quicker responses and better service to students.
“Extending our workday without having to increase our staff resourcing is game-changing,” explains Buckles. “Instead of needing to stay at the office longer, we can now easily schedule jobs to run after hours. So as soon as a staff person arrives in the morning at 8:00 am, they can review the output and then move onto the next step.”
With CA AWA, the Financial Aid team is working more efficiently with other departments and is looking to automate additional process flows and jobs. “Being able to pull together, automate and streamline all our tasks in one place has been fantastic,” says Buckles.
“CA Workload Automation helps the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga improve the overall education of its students, and we are very proud to enable a more sophisticated learning environment through the use of our technology,” said Chris Boorman, CMO of CA Automic. “Automating processes has helped UTC free up capital – a key benefit many organizations gain from automation. The result is that its employees can perform more valuable work.”
