LISLE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Molex and AllGo Systems have teamed up to develop advanced infotainment systems for intelligent connected vehicles. Molex will showcase USB 2.0 OTG (On-The-Go) Hubs and Media Modules in the Tech East-South Hall at the Consumer Electronics Show, Jan 9-12, 2018, Las Vegas, Nevada USA.
“Today’s ‘on-the-go’ drivers and passengers want versatile infotainment—from sophisticated graphic displays to USB connectivity with streaming content,” said Mike O'Sullivan, director of engineering, connected mobility solutions, Molex. “Highly customizable and scalable Molex OTG Hubs and Media Modules deliver best-in-class hardware and software for integrated automotive cockpits.”
A leading infotainment provider to Tier One automotive manufacturers, AllGo brings proven expertise in automotive infotainment solutions and ready-to-use IP solutions for multimedia, navigation and connectivity. AllGo OTG and Media Solutions support iPhones and Android phones, and distributed media playback to other smart devices within the car.
The Molex CES2018 booth will feature OTG Hubs and Media Modules incorporating AllGo solutions for wired and wireless infotainment in automotive cockpit systems. Demonstrations will include an OTG Hub running Apple CarPlay over USB, and Android Auto 8.0 and QNX on the head unit and digital instrument cluster. An OTG Hub and Adaptor enable the head unit to support CarPlay in either USB Device or Host mode. An AllGo Video Streaming Solution enables seamless media sharing between cluster, head unit and network storage device. High resolution navigation data is streamed from the head unit running Android to a digital instrument cluster running QNX. Running in parallel, 4K high resolution content is streamed from a network storage device to the head unit and played back on a secondary display.
“As evolving in-vehicle infotainment systems grow increasingly complex, we are delighted to collaborate with Molex in delivering fully-integrated, intuitive OTG and Media Module solutions designed for optimal functionality,” said K. Srinivasan, CEO, AllGo.
Molex can rapidly and cost-effectively qualify, design and supply automotive USB 2.0 OTG Hubs and Media Modules meeting end-system requirements in entry level to luxury vehicles.
