Sunspire Health Launches New Website to Help Improve Access to Addiction Treatment Resources

Revamped website strengthens Sunspire’s efforts to confront the addiction crisis and set the standard for quality treatment in the United States

LYNDHURST, N.J.--()--Sunspire Health, a nationwide network of addiction treatment facilities offering personalized treatment and addiction recovery services across the United States, announced today the launch of a newly enhanced website. The new website is designed to educate visitors and guide them through the important decision-making steps involved in seeking treatment for substance use disorders, trauma and co-occurring disorders, whether for one’s self, a loved one, or a patient in the care of a healthcare provider.

The unique interface builds on the Sunspire’s initiatives to meet a broad range of patients at their point of need, recognizing that addiction impacts people from all walks of life and requires an individualized approach to providing quality and evidence-based care. The site offers a 24/7 live-chat feature to facilitate immediate and confidential consultation with highly qualified specialists and features an intuitive guide to help people navigate Sunspire’s five fundamental steps for seeking effective, affordable treatment, including:

1. How addiction treatment works;
2. How to afford treatment;
3. How Sunspire can help;
4. Where to go for treatment; and
5. How to make the decision to get treatment.

“The road to recovery can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate both emotionally and logistically. When taking the first step to seek more information, it’s important that patients and caregivers feel comfortable and are able to work with specialists who can help guide them in individualized decision making,” said Chris Diamond, Chief Executive Officer of Sunspire. “Sunspire’s deep expertise and leadership in the space is integrated throughout this new online resource to ensure visitors can easily connect with treatment professionals and access critical information to help inform decision-making and next steps.”

The opioid addiction crisis is now front and center on the national stage following President Trump’s recent announcement declaring a national public health emergency. While this is an important step for our national conversation, data shows there is a long way to go in fighting the upward trajectory of drug and opioid abuse trends in the U.S. More than 64,000 Americans died from drug overdoses last year, and according to a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has been about a 20 percent increase in overdose deaths between year-end 2015 and 2016. Furthermore, overdose deaths from opioids, which represent more than three out of five overdose deaths, have more than quadrupled since 1999, whether through prescription pain relievers, heroin, or synthetic opioids such as fentanyl.

Dr. Michael Frost, Medical Advisor to Sunspire Health and a nationally recognized addiction medicine specialist, added, “Anyone who has struggled to overcome addiction—or who has fought to help others overcome it—knows there is no `one size fits all’ solution. Addiction is a lifelong and chronic disease that requires accessible long-term care, sustained clinical follow up and a steadfast support system. We are past the point of implementing a patchwork of reactive measures to fight this addiction crisis. Rather we need to proactively reach into our communities to confront the problem at its roots and ensure those who are affected or at risk are supported and have access to evidence-based treatment and care.”

The site provides visitors with detailed information about Sunspire’s network of residential and outpatient treatment facilities located in Massachusetts, South Carolina, Tampa and Palm Beach Florida, Texas, Illinois, Oregon and California. To learn more about each facility, please visit:
