25 Houston-area Nonprofit Organizations Benefit on Giving Tuesday

HOUSTON--()--Comcast NBCUniversal has a long history of supporting communities in their time of need. As southeast Texas continues to recover from the impact of Hurricane Harvey, Comcast NBCUniversal is working to ensure that there is relief still available to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in Houston.

Today, Comcast NBCUniversal awarded $250,000 to 25 Houston-area nonprofit organizations, supporting local relief efforts. These funds will help provide immediate resources and will aid in long-term rebuilding efforts.

"Our Comcast NBCUniversal family lives and works in the areas impacted by this catastrophic storm and they know just how important it is to help our neighbors when they need it the most," said Ralph Martinez, Senior Vice President for Comcast’s Houston Region. “We are proud to support our customers in the Houston area and we’re especially proud to contribute to Houston’s rebuilding efforts through the incredible work of these nonprofit organizations. It is our hope these funds will help these leading organizations continue to provide critical services to thousands of people still in recovery.”

  • The Mexican Institute of Greater Houston
  • The United Way of Greater Houston

Today’s commitment is another step in Comcast NBCUniversal’s pledge to providing a combination of financial and additional resources to assist with the relief efforts in Houston. The company initially donated over one million dollars that was shared between Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund and the American Red Cross.
