WATKINSVILLE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Stadion Money Management, known for its participant level, customized retirement solutions and non-traditional investment strategies, today announced that Swerdlin & Company has added its 401(k) managed account solution, StoryLine, to its daily-valued recordkeeping product offering. This new partnership demonstrates Stadion’s focus on the regional recordkeeper channel, which will continue to be a core component of the firm’s growth strategy.
StoryLine, built with SPDR® ETFs, is an innovative retirement planning solution built specifically for 401(k) participants in advisor-sold plans. StoryLine offers plan level customization, which Stadion sees as a distinct improvement over “one size fits all” target date strategies. StoryLine, which made its market debut in 2016, has approximately $600 million in AUM as of 9/30/17.
“Swerdlin is a well-respected, national retirement plan administration and recordkeeping firm with a long history of providing high quality service and innovative solutions to its clients,” said Jud Doherty, President & CEO of Stadion Money Management. “We’re delighted they’ve added StoryLine to their open-architecture recordkeeping platform, and we look forward to working with them in the years ahead.”
StoryLine’s innovative approach recognizes every plan sponsor and employee as unique. The StoryLine process first seeks insight into the overall plan make-up with the intent of tailoring default options for each individual company. Then, with StoryLine’s participant-centric web interface, employees will be encouraged to further define their individual investment paths based on personal risk profiles, expectations, and goals. StoryLine will also allow – at the employee’s discretion – the inclusion of outside and spousal assets to facilitate more comprehensive retirement planning. The end goal of this is to have each participant on a retirement path personalized to their own circumstances and needs.
“Stadion broke new ground when it debuted StoryLine a little over a year ago,” said Lee Swerdlin, President & COO of Swerdlin & Company. “The level of plan and participant customization available through StoryLine gives our advisors a new way to help their clients prepare for retirement. We are excited about adding StoryLine to our platform and believe it will be a value-add to our participant experience.”
StoryLine helps financial advisors deepen their relationships with sponsors and participants by engaging them at the plan level with tailored solutions. In turn, sponsors are able to offer their employees access to individual personalized planning that goes beyond typical age- and risk-based investment strategies.
