BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PAN Communications today announced the launch of its corporate philanthropy program, PANcares. This year, PAN is focused on partnering with three organizations to help improve the lives of children and teens who are affected by homelessness. An expansion of PAN’s existing philanthropic efforts, the program’s mission is to elevate the firm’s community engagement, pro bono work and employee volunteer initiatives united under the cause of youth homelessness.
According to America’s Youngest Outcasts: A Report Card on Child Homelessness, more than 2.5 million children are currently affected by homelessness in the U.S. – and that number continues to grow. With the launch of PANcares, PAN is putting its expertise in integrated marketing and PR to good use, unified behind a cause to drive impact within the community and help to end the tragedy of youth homelessness. PAN is partnering with local organizations in each region, including the MA Coalition for the Homeless, Covenant House Florida in Orlando and Covenant House California, to support their efforts with the youth homeless population.
“Giving back to our local communities and helping those less fortunate have always been important and integral parts of our culture and values here at PAN,” said Philip A. Nardone, Jr., President and CEO of PAN Communications. “The impact of homelessness in our communities is tragic beyond measure, but there is work that can be done to help those who often do not have the means to helps themselves. We’re eager to take our philanthropic efforts to the next level with PANcares, partnering with commendable organizations to raise awareness and do our part in mitigating the heart-wrenching effects of youth homelessness.”
PANcares will provide monthly pro bono PR services to partner organizations in each region, supporting local media relations efforts around fundraisers, mission statements, campaigns and events. PAN will also help to increase general awareness for the effects of youth homelessness and promote ways to support the cause. In addition to pro bono PR work, all employees at PAN Communications will have the opportunity to get involved through group volunteer activities where they are able to directly help the homeless community. Some of the activities will include attending events and fundraisers, supporting in-kind donation drives, and helping to build beds for homeless children. PAN encourages employees to get involved and promotes community service by offering paid time off during the week for these activities.
“Everyone deserves a place to call home – and we are committed to making that happen as we work to improve the lives of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts,” said Robyn Frost, Executive Director for the MA Coalition for the Homeless. “Partnering with PAN Communications will help us elevate awareness for our initiatives and engage the community, expanding the reach and support for our fight to eradicate poverty and homelessness.”
“The young people we serve are often disconnected from society, vulnerable and victims of traumatic events or abuse,” said Bill Bedrossian, CEO of Covenant House California. “Our aim is to create life-affirming bridges that allow our youths to feel safe and secure, and build the life skills they need to improve their situations and mitigate the lasting effects of homelessness. Raising awareness for how we can help and continue to serve the youth homeless population is critical – PAN Communications’ services will enable us to further engage the communities we serve in the Bay Area.”
