BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Expese, an emerging technology startup focused on disrupting the retail customer experience, today announced plans to expand its on-going beta program. The company has been servicing its initial beta users of the online electronics rental service since July 2017 to considerable success. With a retention rate of 90% since the beta’s launch, the company’s leadership team now plans to attain an additional 1,000 users in the Greater Boston area through the first half of 2018.
“Today marks four months since the launch of our beta program and I’m proud to say our community continues to grow,” commented Nic DiBella, chief community officer of Expese. “By expanding our beta program to a significantly larger geographic region, we can serve those more knowledgeable technology enthusiasts, people like our very own team, that are passionate about experiencing the latest and greatest electronics without breaking the bank.”
Recognizing a significant shift in consumer behavior in his four retail locations of Tab USA, a Boston-area electronics retailer, Akash Modi, made the decision to shutter his brick and mortar stores in favor of developing an innovative online platform intended to redefine the retail experience of high-end electronic devices.
“Having owned and operated a dozen brick and mortar retail businesses over the last ten years, I’ve seen, first hand, the challenges faced by both not only the small-business owner but the consumer,” said Akash Modi, founder & chief executive officer of Expese. “As consumer technology becomes more complex and the product offerings more diverse, the standard retail experience of tinkering with the product for a few minutes on a showroom floor just doesn’t cut it any longer. Customers deserve the opportunity to truly experience these technologies on their own terms, that’s why we built Expese.”
To commemorate the beta expansion, Expese is hosting an official launch party on November 14th at WeWork Cambridge. For free registration and details please visit:
