CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As a part of the continuing effort to raise awareness and celebrate the pharmacy profession following American Pharmacist Month, Pharmacy Times®, the leading media resource for pharmacists and the pharmacy industry, and their sister publication, Specialty Pharmacy Times®, have kicked off the #APharmacistIs campaign.
“Pharmacists across the nation play a crucial role in the treatment of diseases, however, they are not always given enough credit for their hard work. This campaign supports the contributions and accomplishments of pharmacists, by putting them in the spotlight,” said Brian Haug, president of Pharmacy and Healthcare Communications, LLC., publishers of Pharmacy Times® and Specialty Pharmacy Times®.
During the campaign, pharmacists will be recognized for their important roles in health care as medication experts, insurance navigators, patient care providers, immunization experts, patient confidants and more.
The campaign is open to the public and encourages pharmacists to share photographs and videos on social media using #APharmacistIs. We ask pharmacists share photographs of them doing something they love, while videos should include a few words about what a pharmacist is to them. Email submissions can also be made to Laurie Toich (ltoich@specialtypharmacytimes).
This campaign is a part of the ongoing efforts by Pharmacy Times® and Specialty Pharmacy Times® to recognize the impact of pharmacists on advancing patient care and to encourage patients to understand the value of a pharmacist.
Pharmacy Times® will also participate in various events and activities, including the ASHP Midyear 2017 Clinical Meeting and Exhibition. The event will feature an opportunity for pharmacists to participate in the campaign and discuss the value of their profession. The ASHP conference brings together pharmacists, student pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from across the nation to benefit each other and optimize the health outcomes for their patients.
