WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rustic Pathways, the leading provider of authentic travel, service learning, and adventure programs, was awarded 2017 Best Youth Tour Operator by the Global Youth Travel Awards on September 28 in Montreal. The Global Youth Travel Awards are presented annually at the World Youth and Student Travel Conference to recognize outstanding performers in the youth, student, and educational travel industry. In addition to winning this year's award, Rustic Pathways also won Best Youth Tour Operator in 2015, and was the runner-up in 2016.
“We work hard to ensure that each and every student garners a powerful, truly life-changing travel experience that helps them better understand the world and each other, while positively impacting our community partners around the world,” said Rustic Pathways CEO Chris Stakich. “We’re proud to lead the student travel industry.”
More than 11,000 students traveled with Rustic Pathways to 21 countries around the world in 2017. Rustic Pathways’ culturally-immersive service and adventure programs are intentionally designed to foster key non-cognitive skill sets that help students succeed academically, professionally, and interpersonally. In 2016, Rustic Pathways introduced its Student Impact Evaluation, a comprehensive measurement tool to assess whether students experienced growth in specific skills as a result of participating in its programs. Students have been found to have experienced growth in every single Student Learning Outcome (SLO) measured, including intercultural competence, self-awareness, and a desire to positively impact the lives of others.
