MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mike D’Amico, Stratford Managers Corporation’s VP and HR Practice Lead, was recently named Chair of BioTalent Canada’s Board of Directors at the organization’s Board meeting.
Mr. D’Amico has served on BioTalent Canada’s board for eight years, most recently as Vice-Chair. He brings a wealth of HR experience to BioTalent Canada, a national non-profit HR association for Canada’s bio-economy. The organization works with its corporate partners, national and provincial biotechnology associations, and the public sector to ensure Canada’s biotechnology businesses have access to the most skilled talent available.
Mike D’Amico takes the helm during a time of expansion for BioTalent Canada. The organization, best known for its wage-subsidy programs to help new talent gain employment in biotechnology and assist companies offset the costs of hiring, is rolling out its largest funding announcements in its 20-year history. Over the next four years, thanks to a series of government funded initiatives, BioTalent Canada will help inject over $10.3 million in wage subsidies to facilitate 1,400 new job placements in the biotechnology and bio-environmental sectors.

In his career as HR executive, Mr. D’Amico worked in a diverse range of business environments, from publicly-traded companies and private companies as well as those entering the IPO process. Prior to joining Stratford Managers, D’Amico founded Strategic HR Consulting Canada, an HR consulting firm providing HR strategies to clients. He has held senior executive roles in the biotechnology, software and telecom industries.
