ATLANTA & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Deputy today announced the integration of TC Services USA’s Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) into its industry leading cloud-based workforce management platform. The addition of TC Services’ WOTCsoftware.com enables companies to more easily claim and prioritize scheduling of hours for WOTC certified employees. A single tax credit can offset the cost of the Deputy subscription and many businesses can drive their business tax liability in half or to 0% for hiring activity they are already doing.
“Deputy added a WOTC capability because it is an excellent way for a business to lower its effective tax rate and, thus, reinvest back into the business,” said Jason Walker, Deputy’s President, Americas. “More than finding a partner whose technology and service levels were exceptional, ease of use for the common scheduling personnel was a priority. We found that in TC Services’ WOTCsoftware.com, our partner’s cloud-based capability. With this integration, Deputy offers a path for our customers to cut their tax bill in half or event to 0%.”
Every year, employers claim more than $1 billion in credits under the WOTC program. However, the government allocates $60 billion for such claims.
Businesses are able to claim a tax credit of $2,400 to $9,600 per eligible new hire with this program. For most industries, 10% to 40% of a company’s new hires meet one of the WOTC targeted groups. As a non-reimbursable tax credit, credits can be carried forward for 20 years.
The Deputy integration solves the biggest challenge of the WOTC program -- visibility of which employees are eligible at the point of scheduling. TC Services will conduct the WOTC checks for new hires and send updates to the employee profiles within Deputy, giving visibility to the scheduling manager of which WOTC certified employees to prioritize.
“TC Services is pleased to have our WOTCsoftware.com integrated with Deputy’s advanced workforce management platform,” said Michael Markowitz, TC Services’ Vice President. “It means those who are already effectively managing their staffs with Deputy can further improve their bottom lines by taking full advantage of the WOTC program with the ease, speed and user friendliness.”
Companies using TC Services’ capability have typically seen a 300% increase in their WOTC credits. Both Deputy and the WOTCsoftware.com platform allows all functions to be performed from desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
The integration and enrollment with TC Services is free for current and new Deputy customers. TC Services charges a standard success fee only when a successful tax credit is earned.
