Daniel George, M.D., serves as a professor of medicine and surgery, divisions of medical oncology and urology at the Duke University School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. George has appointments in the Duke Clinical Research Institute and is the director of genitourinary (GU) oncology at the Duke Cancer Institute. His areas of research include new drug development and biomarkers of GU cancers, highlighting pathways and angiogenesis.
Alessandra Ferrajoli, M.D., is a professor of medicine in the Department of Leukemia, Division of Cancer Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her main areas of research include prognostic factors and treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, treatment of elderly patients with acute and chronic leukemia and evidence-based medicine. Dr. Ferrajoli has authored and co-authored more than 200 publications in these fields.
The advisory board plays a critical role in the process of selecting the semi-finalists from the nominations. Each semi-finalist is assessed on their capabilities and their contributions to the field of oncology. Additionally, The Advisory Board is responsible for providing valuable advice to OncLive® to further develop and award initiative in the field of cancer care.
