SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Check City today announced Tracy Rawle, president and CEO of Utah based Check City accepted the esteemed Activa Award at the Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA) annual conference on October 7, which concluded over the weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Activa Awards program honors FiSCA members for outstanding examples of leadership and community investment made in the localities where they do business. Recipient member Check City has provided financial solutions and other services for more than 30 years. The company encourages it customers and employees to participate in various charity drives and volunteerism throughout the year. The Fisher House Walk-a-Thon was one of several events recently sponsored by Check City.
“The primary goal was to raise awareness of the critical services offered at Fisher House using a radio and social media campaign. We wanted to share the story of how this nonprofit helps hundreds of our veterans and military each year. Second, our goal was to raise enough money to feed the residents of Fisher House for six months,” said Check City President Tracy Rawle. “With the dedication of our team we were able to donate an estimated cash and in-kind total of $8,890.00 along with over 100 volunteer hours.”
To wrap up the event, Check City team members brought food to prepare and serve to the residents at Fisher House. “We wanted to demonstrate to the twenty families staying at the Salt Lake Fisher House that they have community support and we appreciate all of the countless sacrifices they have made for our country,” said Check City Vice President Todd Rawle.
