BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Version 2.0 Communications, a public relations and digital communications firm, today announced it has surpassed several growth milestones during its 10th anniversary year, marked by more than a dozen client wins and a 52 percent growth over the last three years – an achievement that was recognized on a national stage by Inc. Magazine, which included Version 2.0 on its list of 5000 "America's Fastest Growing Private Companies."
To support the sustained growth of the agency, Version 2.0 is pleased to appoint veteran communications leader Melissa Mahoney as a senior vice president. Mahoney, who served as a consultant for Version 2.0 for more than a year, brings 20+ years of marketing and communications experience advising global business-to-business and high-tech companies. Prior to joining Version 2.0, Mahoney was the vice president of corporate communications for the high-growth tech start-up SimpliVity (a Version 2.0 client), where she oversaw worldwide media and analyst relations, brand management and social media programs. Previously, Mahoney spent a decade with Iron Mountain, a publicly traded Fortune 1000 company, where she led public relations, employee communications, brand and customer marketing.
Version 2.0 also promoted Katelyn Holbrook to senior vice president. Holbrook has been instrumental in Version 2.0's sustained growth and leads the organization's content practice. Formally unveiled this past February, the firm’s dynamic content practice operates under the philosophy that content and PR should work hand-in-hand in order to maximize brand cohesiveness and produce meaningful business results. Since the launch, Holbrook has helped the agency secure content strategy and writing projects with one of the world’s largest enterprise technology companies, a leading online caregiver platform and several disruptive startup brands.
The agency is also celebrating a number of accolades this year: Version 2.0 was recognized for its culture as one of Boston's Best Places to Work by the Boston Business Journal, named a finalist in the PR News' Agency Elite awards, and took home four Bell Ringers at the 49th Annual Bell Ringer Awards ceremony, including a gold bell for guerilla marketing.
Finally, Version 2.0 extended its commitment to the discussion of gender in the workplace by building on its "Women Mean Business" infographic series that previously featured Boston, New York and San Francisco. Two new infographics for Ann Arbor, Mich. and Denver and Boulder, Colo., highlighted women in leadership positions in these technology hotbeds and local support systems available to female entrepreneurs.
"Key to our success over the last ten years has been our team's ability to evolve the services we offer clients to keep pace with today's dynamic marketing communications landscape," said Jean Serra, co-founder and partner. "This commitment to innovation, creativity and results has been instrumental in our growth and we are honored to have it recognized in so many ways. Our growth and success wouldn't be possible without the amazing team we have assembled and we are thrilled to expand it by adding Melissa to the senior management team."
