Versive™ Awarded Prestigious SINET 16 Designation for Pioneering Approach to AI-Powered Cybersecurity

Versive Security Engine™ Recognized Among “Most Innovative Cybersecurity Technologies for 2017”

SEATTLE--()--Versive, the leader in mission-focused adversary detection, today announced the company has been named to the prestigious SINET 16 list of the most innovative cybersecurity companies. Awarded annually by the Security Innovation Network, the SINET 16 competition is extremely rigorous and only recognizes the most inventive and effective cybersecurity technologies from amongst hundreds of nominees. Versive was recognized for its Versive Security Engine, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) within a mission-focused framework to detect and help mitigate advanced adversary campaigns in ways not previously possible.

Versive will present its technology during the SINET Showcase to be held November 8-9, 2017 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

“Versive is pioneering an approach to cybersecurity focused on the unique characteristics of adversary objectives and behaviors inside the network, allowing for rapid, advanced adversary detection no matter what technology or tactics an adversary is using,” said Versive CEO Joe Polverari. “We partnered with the world’s preeminent cybersecurity experts to automate and greatly enhance their methods with our cyber-specific approach to artificial intelligence. Our approach is unique in the market and we’re seeing amazing results, so far. This designation as a SINET 16 Innovator is solid validation of the value we’re creating for enterprise security teams every day.”

Rather than simply generating or aggregating alerts, the Versive Security Engine uniquely applies a sophisticated, mission-focused framework to determine whether anomalous behaviors are part of a malicious campaign or merely noise. Continuously analyzing raw data from multiple sources, the Versive Security Engine compares suspicious or anomalous behaviors against the network norm, and strategically applies AI to detect adversaries systematically, quickly, and at any scale. The Versive Security Engine then ties together qualified findings from across the network into a highly accurate, contextual map known as a Versive ThreatCase™, automating and force-multiplying the impact of existing security teams to focus limited time on legitimate threats and value-added activities.

To be considered for inclusion in the SINET 16, candidates must be a cybersecurity product company, be completely autonomous, and have annual revenues of $15 million dollars or less. Nominees are vetted as part of a multi-stage review process led by SINET’s Showcase Steering Committee, a group comprised of more than 100 leaders from government, industry, investment, and academia. Those chosen for the SINET 16 are selected on numerous criteria, including: how innovative and unique their solutions are; how well their products and technologies solve real and significant cybersecurity problems; and the company’s ability to succeed based on the state of their product, capital, and leadership, amongst others.

The prestigious SINET 16 win continues Versive’s year of strategic milestones and momentum. Already this year the company has won the Best of Interop ITX 2017 Award in the security category and recently raised $12.7 million in new funding to accelerate its expansion in cybersecurity.
