WESTLAKE, Ohio--()--TravelCenters of America LLC (TravelCenters) operator of the TA® and Petro Stopping Centers® travel center brands, competed with a team of 12 ASE Master Technicians and two TA Truck Service student technicians, selected from its over 3,000 technicians, at the annual TMC SuperTech competition held in Orlando, FL this week.

TA’s team placed second in combined station titles in the competition. In addition, six TA technicians earned titles in seven hands-on skills challenges, won second place in a two technician team challenge, won third place overall in the Trailer competition and won sixth overall in the SuperTech category.

These wins complement the many titles that TA Truck Service technicians have claimed since first competing at TMC SuperTech in 2005, at the competition’s inception. In the months leading up to TMC SuperTech, TA Truck Service technicians also compete in state diesel technician competitions, including inaugural events in many states. TA Truck Service technicians claimed 10 overall top three finishes and 35 station wins at these competitions in 2017 alone.

TMC SuperTech is an elite competition bringing the best truck service and repair technicians from U.S. original equipment manufacturers, trucking companies and repair facilities together to compete nationally. The two-day competition consists of written tests and hands-on skills challenges. Challenges are designed to help technicians showcase their knowledge and skills, and winners are selected for each station, as well as overall top scorers.
