SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, WB Liquors, a family-owned, Texas-based liquor store, announced that they will auction off a bottle of the extremely rare, 25-year-old Pappy Van Winkle in a charitable auction to benefit local communities devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Bourbon collectors will have the chance to score one bottle of the limited-release whiskey in this one-of-a-kind auction. Bids will be accepted at any WB Liquors location and at www.wbliquors.com from Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. (CDT) through Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. (CDT). All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Rebuild Texas Fund to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
“The impact of Hurricane Harvey was felt throughout the state of Texas,” WB Liquors president John Herrmann said. “We felt the devastation as our employees and their families were directly distressed by its unprecedented storms. As members of the community, WB Liquors wanted to find a way to help those who are dealing with the aftermath of Harvey. It's important we support the communities where we work and live.”
Customers and collectors can support this effort by submitting their bids at any WB Liquors location or online. Real-time updates will be posted on wbliquors.com. Regarded as one of the finest bourbons in the world, the estimated retail value for this hard-to-find Van Winkle is $1,800 per bottle. Only 710 bottles were released by the distiller -- with a mere nine available in Texas. One winner will celebrate National Bourbon Heritage Month in a meaningful way.
