FanDuel Announces “Scout” App Ahead Of New Football Season

New Product Combines Analytics With Breaking News To Give Fans A Fantasy Edge

NEW YORK--()--Today, FanDuel announced the launch of “Scout,” a new app designed to keep sports fans up-to-date on all the latest news tied to their fantasy roster. Fueled by numberFire, the next generation sports analytics platform, “Scout” gives users personalized player news feeds based on their fantasy lineups ensuring a new level of real-time roster management.

Using a FanDuel account to log-in, “Scout” integrates users’ lineups and lets them view both drafted and watch-list players. In addition, users can navigate through all players in upcoming slates and filter both by games and various category types with an emphasis on how a player is projected to perform.

“Scout” allows users to approach decision-making and roster building from the matchup perspective rather than just from the individual player. The filters on the app include advanced numberFire-powered stats such as “park factor” and “implied total” which are designed to provide users with a deeper analysis than traditional prediction metrics. “Scout” will also give users access to a glossary for a more in-depth look at what each stat means. Once a FanDuel lineup is submitted users can then receive personalized notifications on “Scout,” such as injury alerts and weather delays.

“We look at Scout as the next step in the evolving fantasy sports landscape,” said Nigel Eccles, CEO, FanDuel. “Everything about the ‘Scout’ experience is personalized, from a tailored newsfeed to alert options, helping users make the most informed fantasy decisions throughout the season.”

The news comes not long after FanDuel revealed its new Friends Mode “Championship” league style of play. Available in time for the upcoming NFL season, the new leagues give fans the opportunity to play fantasy sports with friends, family, and colleagues throughout the NFL season using FanDuel’s salary cap roster format while giving commissioners a wider array of options.

“Scout” is available for download today in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store to users with iOS 10 and higher.
