CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Women in Manufacturing® (WiM) announced today that more than 150 top US manufacturing companies are sponsoring employee attendance at the 7th annual WiM SUMMIT on September 13 – 15 in Hartford, CT. Several hundred manufacturing professionals will attend to participate in plant tours, listen to inspiring keynote speakers, attend roundtable discussions, network with peers, bid for great items in a Silent Auction and more.
The roster of attendees boasts some of the best in the business, including, among others, 3M, AGCO Corporation, BWX Technologies, Inc., Crown Equipment Corporation, Dell Technologies, Inc., General Electric, IBM, Ingersoll Rand, John Deere, MillerCoors, Oshkosh Defense, Pratt & Whitney and Rockwell Automation.
Connecticut-based manufacturer Pratt & Whitney was eager to get involved in the SUMMIT when WiM announced Hartford as the hosting city. “Working with organizations like Women in Manufacturing is a natural fit for us, as it allows us to network with a talented group of professionals who understand what we do and how we do it. With United Technologies, Pratt & Whitney is committed to finding and developing women in leadership positions through our commitment to the Paradigm for Parity Coalition. This is a perfect opportunity for us to work with WiM, a leader in this space,” said Tara St-Pierre, senior director of Talent, Inclusion and Engagement at Pratt & Whitney.
"As new corporate members, we are excited to attend our first WiM SUMMIT,” said Matt Schupp, senior vice president of Human Resources Global Supply Chain (GSC) at The Sherwin-Williams Company. “We have heard such positive comments about the event, and are looking forward to plugging into the strong network of female manufacturing leaders and professionals that WiM has built!"
In addition to the companies and professionals registered to participate in the SUMMIT next month, many groups are showing their support through contributions to the Silent Auction. One of the most popular components of the SUMMIT, the Silent Auction’s proceeds are designated to the Women in Manufacturing Education Foundation (WiMEF), the 501(c)(3) arm of WiM, which provides and supports affordable educational opportunities for women in manufacturing.
