SEATTLE--()--Heyou Media, Inc., a new media content aggregator company founded by actor and filmmaker Tom Skerritt is already showing signs of fast momentum and acceptance of its new media business. The Seattle company announced today that it has secured its first round of financing and that its web series, “Stroller Gangs” is now available for viewing on Amazon Prime Video through the Amazon Video Direct self-service distribution platform. Today’s announcement marks the first of many distribution platforms to be leveraged for Heyou Media content.

“Heyou Media is feeling the buzz from all of the interest and traction,” said Tom Skerritt, Heyou Media Founder and Chairman. “Entertainment and technology industries see the value and are quickly resonating with our mission and unique approach. An alternative media revolution is burgeoning and our company creates a viable new media and visual entertainment content business to produce, aggregate, curate and distribute outstanding content from around the world.”

“Stroller Gangs,” based on true stories, is a comedy web series that follows a pack of Seattle quad-shot latte moms who push strollers while they push the limits into unending raucous shenanigans. Viewers can find the show at http://a.co/aosEuH5

“You don’t want to mess with this posse,” added Skerritt. “Stroller Gangs’ story lines are already receiving positive feedback from a growing number of viewers – all without any promotion done to date.”

Distribution of the series on Amazon Prime Video through Amazon Video Direct is the first of many key partnerships to be forged by the company. However, Skerritt stressed that Amazon is critical to Heyou Media’s distribution strategy, because of its extensive reach and scale, as well as the ability to attract a premium audience with Amazon Video. “Amazon brings global, high-quality infrastructure combined with a large fan base and focus on excellent customer service,” said Skerritt.

Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis sits on the Heyou Media advisory board and underscores the importance that music adds to the Heyou Media vision. Recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Seattle rock band’s Mike McCready is featured in one of the “Stroller Gangs” segments.

“It’s awesome to be connected to what will be another significant creative marker and movement,” said Curtis. “Like what happened with the innovative music that erupted from Seattle, Tom’s Heyou Media offers an exciting vehicle for all forms of interesting content and will bring dynamic ways to highlight the abundance of creative talent in our region.”

Heyou Media also met its financing goals for its first round of fund raising through a variety of undisclosed investors.

The initial fund amount was not unveiled, but the company stated that the monies would be used to support productions, marketing, content acquisition and distribution deals, according to Skerritt.

“Heyou Media presents another significant reason to put Seattle on the map,” added Curtis.

An Emmy Award actor, director and writer in the entertainment industry, Skerritt is recognized for his work in the award-winning films M*A*S*H, TURNING POINT, ALIEN, TOP GUN, A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, STEEL MAGNOLIAS and CONTACT; innumerable television shows, the 16-Emmy Award CBS series, PICKET FENCES; and Broadway productions. Skerritt founded The Film School in 2003 and in 2012, the RED BADGE PROJECT, a storytelling program for veterans with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS).
